Cultural diffusion is the process of spreading cultural traits from one region to another. There are 5 types of cultural diffusion there is expansion, relocation, hierarchical, contagious and stimulus. Expansion is where an idea or thing remains strong in one area but then begins to expand. Relocation is where and idea relocates and leaves behind from the origin. Hierarchical is when an idea or thing moves from a bigger place to a smaller place. Contagious is a person to person within a population Stimulus is an idea or innovation that spreads based in its attachment to another concept. Columbian exchange happened in history and it is when the widespread transfer of plants, animals, culture, human population... A modern idea is McDonalds is the same idea just going to different places.
