• What have you learned about Dinka culture? What markers from the film are representative of Dinka culture? Of American culture? What values do the Lost Boys hold? How do those values compare with your own?  The Dinka culture seems tough but they make the most of it and we just kind of take everything for granted. PART ONE – Beginning to Arrival at Kenya   1. How many people lost their lives from the civil war in Sudan?  Around 2 million people lost their lives due to the war. 2. Who are the Lost Boys?  People who lost their homes and traveled thousands of miles to get away from the war. 3. What two things started the civil war in Sudan?  Religion and oil started the war. 4. Who was fighting in the war?  The sudanese government and the Sudan's People Liberation Army. 5. What hardships did the boys face on their journey to Ethiopia?  Lacked food water and shelter. Attacks by lions and hyenas.

Migration- 2 categories International Migration- permanent move from one country to another Internal Migration- permanent move within the same country  Sub category of Internal-Interregional- movement from one region to another Intraregional- movement between similar regions Approximately 9 percent of the world’s people are international migrants Global pattern reflects migration tendencies from developing countries to developed countries U.S has more foreign-born residents than any other country: approx 43 mil There are multiple trends where people are moving from less developed places into more developed countries. Right now there is a lot of Mexicans and Asians moving into the United States. For Internal migration people are moving from urban places to the suburbs and people are moving from rural areas to suburbs or urban.
